We have been engaged with many interesting groups and events this year. I started attending Writing Saturday at the southside library on Saturday mornings, from 9 - 11am. This is a program started by QWC, and uses the pomodoro method to give writers blocks of writing time with short breaks inbetween to get up and stretch, or discuss writing with other attendees.

Also this year I checked out Author Alley at CapriCon, where several members and previous members of Generation XYZ had stalls to promote and sell their books.

In other exciting news for authors and book-lovers in Rockhampton, a new locally owned and run bookshop called Whispering Pages can be found on East Street. Not only can avid readers find their new favourite books here - and a book club too - but those interested in writing, art, and craft related events will find many fun activities scheduled to take place.
